Christmas Memories, 2008 - Melissa

This Christmas post comes from Melissa Jent ... or Sis as most of us call her

My favorite Xmas memory as a child was when the whole family would get together, it was so much fun to see everyone and have them all in the same place together, its been far too long since we have been able to do that type of thing.

I think every christmas from the time I was 5 til I was 13 I asked for a cash register but I never got one. I loved playing with them in the stores, like Service Merchandise or Sams club. I always loved playing with money.

I will never forget the Christmas of 96, it was the last present under the tree and on the box it said from me to you, to you from me... I was completely puzzled, I opened the box to find a set of car keys, I totally freaked out... And sitting in the driveway was a 94 Cougar, Linda and Crit's old car to be exact. I can also distinctly remember Jeremy calling that morning to see how excited I was. Mom told me I had to make the payments but I didn't care it was the best Christmas surprise ever!!!!

What made Christmas special... Everything did when I was little, just the lights, the tree, Mom's was the best of course, even though she would get so aggrevated decorating it. Just knowing we would all get together and exchange gifts was awesome. But now I would have to say that Paul is what makes Christmas special.

Okay hands down my favorite food ever during Christmas is Rita's Famous Walnut Snowballs... I love those cookies and she makes a tin of them just for me... I think I get more excited about those cookies than opening presents!!! And I do not like egg nog, yuck!!!

Opening gifts we always did on Christmas morning, but Mom would always let us open just one on Christmas Eve.

Where I spend Christmas is usually up in the air, usually on Christmas Eve I go to Rita's, and Christmas day is with Paul. My friends and I started a new tradition where we go to the movies on Christmas Day.

I would usually decorate but the past few years I haven't been in much of Christmas spirits but this year my roommate and I are decorating both, well if we can find a ladder to put the lights on outside. LOL...

Yes I think everyone is making adjustments on their spending this year. This year I will probably only be buying for Paul, after all that's what Christmas is all about, the kids...

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Love Always, Sis
