This post comes from Jamie Jent... in the photo below he's the little guy wearing the blue vest. Shawn is helping him with his toys. The last photo is Jamie graduating from school to become a Fireman. He is no longer a little guy. He's a grown man with a beautiful wife, Kristi, and two beautiful children, Haylee & Logan. He's grown into a man anyone would be honored to know and he is appreciated for what he does for the community.
You asked for my favorite Christmas/Holiday memory, here it is (as I remember it):
I don't even remember what year it was or even if it was Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, maybe it was even New Years Eve. It was the year we rented a hall (I believe it was on Goddard in Taylor) and everyone showed up. We got there early, everyone dressed up, fire roaring in the fireplace, giant Christmas tree and a huge spread of food (of course). The reason this holiday has always stuck out in mind is how happy everyone was, there was no tension, no drama, no animosity and the excitement that my cousin Jason was going to spend it with us.
If memory serves me correctly, most of us loaded up afterwards and headed down to Ohio to surprise Papaw. I drove down with George and Jason. Jason and I took turns listening to his new "Quiet Riot" tape on his brand new "Walkman" (Good times). Once we got down there and rousted Winford out of his "Conservation Club" chaos ensued. We stayed the night, sleeping all over the place and on top of one another. I also recall Matthew getting into an inhaler of Papaw's, taking a puff and the freak-out that followed, HILARIOUS!
The feelings of togetherness and joy that day was truly special, I'll never forget it.
Hope everyone is well and has a Merry Christmas,
Jamie
