From Bobby ....
"Thanksgiving to me is .. Giving thanks of course. andddddddddddd....the food, and dessert, second helpings, the family all together and watching the Lions lose again on TV. Maybe a nap, or hunting for deer the day of or after the holiday would be awesome.
The left overs the next day............PRICELESS.
Hope everyone has a Cold snowy Thanksgiving day".
From Louise ...
"Thanksgiving should be a day for just that ... giving thanks to our Creator and to our families and friends. Even though times are difficult we have much to be thankful for in this country.
The most memorable Thanksgiving is the one we spent providing dinner for homeless folks and people who had no place to go for dinner. Clyde, Dave, Shawn, Jane and I met with others at our former church. Clyde cooked for about 400 people that day and friends from church bussed in the homeless from all parts of Downriver & Detroit. It was truly a blessing to set up the hall and serve these people.
I wonder how different our holidays might be if we took the time to serve the less fortunate ... to give of our time, talents and funds to provide for those who have so little? To an extent we're doing that through our church this year. As a congregation we'll be helping some folks who are in need.
As a family, we'll be getting together at our home for turkey & all the trimmings next week. Clyde will work his majic with cooking and I'll do the baking and we'll share one more Thanksgiving with family.
May you all be blessed as you celebrate this special day".

"I do not remember any Thanksgiving that meant more than the others. They were always spent with my parents and then with Roy. I just know how much I miss mom, dad and Roy and the holidays are not the same. I have always treasured being with family on a nice quiet Thanksgiving Day and as I got older and my parents got sicker I did all the cooking and still do; hopefully I will be able to for a long time.
As we got older, Roy always had friends at the station who had no place to go and we always had room for them. I still have an open invitation to anyone without a place to go. I don't know if you know that we took in our friend Art who lost his home to illness and he lived with us until he died. My friend Ray was also a friend of Roy's and he has been so sick and also lost his apartment, I could not turn my back on him. So .....that's the story of my Thanksgiving memories. I have always said there would be no one hungry or cold in my circle as long as I am able to help. I love you both and hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. As of now I think we will be about 15 including Ray's daughter and husband and Randy's dad and wife.
Will be in touch - love - Aunt Sue"
