The upper loft area ... there's a chair up here that folds out to make a small bed
also a full size bathroom & porch

The kitchen ... the main level bedroom & a full bath can be entered from the kitchen;
you can also enter the bedroom from the living area

The dining area ... seating for 6 or more; there's a bench in the back;
plus 4 bar stools at the kitchen counter

The living room - the biggest TV is in this room;
there were also TV's in the girls room downstairs, the game room and the main level bedroom

The main level bedroom

The porch off the living room

You could probably sleep 8 - 10 people in this cabin
3 bedrooms & 4 full bathrooms plus a jacuzzi in the lower level bedroom
and a hot tub on this porch

A few more pictures ... not in order....
This photo was taken as we entered the Smoky's ... we
were going to drive thru Cade's Cove

One of the old homes in Cade's Cove

Another old building in Cade's Cove

Cade's Cove is an 11 mile, one-way loop in a section of the Smoky Mtn's

Stef & I found a sign at the Visitor Center that said
"Caution: Snakes are active at all buildings"
Needless to say, we did not venture to any of the buildings on foot!
Stef told me "I was hoping you wouldn't see that sign" because she wanted to explore the buildings ... I did too 'til I read about snakes ... I do not care for them

A fence ..

A wild, skinny turkey .. how do they get so plump for Thanksgiving?
I think I know .....

A tree in front of the stream in Cade's Cove
There's only so much time to take pictures when the car is moving

A better view...

Safely back on the mountain and in the cabin...

Shelly, we did have a great time and memories were made for all of us.
I talked with Kay yesterday (Aug. 26) and she said her new motto for life is:
"Live in such a way that no one gives a sigh of relief when you're gone"
I agree whole-heartedly. I want to be missed by those who knew me when I leave this earth.
More than that, I want to hear the good Lord say
"Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into your reward" when I reach heaven.
Thanks for reading everyone! More pictures later!
I love you!

Pictures from our trip to TN ... not in specific order ... more to come at another time...

On the road to TN ... that's Shawn & Jane's Flex you're seeing

The 'back' porch of the cabin ... this cabin had 3 porches; a deck in the front, a picnic table, grill and swing set

This is the room Clyde & I had on the main level

The living room ... from here you had stunning views of the mountains, the clouds and the valley below

The dining area ... every room has a view

The kitchen ... you enter the cabin from the front of the cabin into this room

Our indoor bear .... there are carvings all through the cabin, done by local artisans

Jane & the girls & Louis

They're in the upper level game room

Louis giving kisses ... he was so good on this trip

Erica with Jane on the porch swing ... we were 4077 feet above sea level and I was scared spitless to even walk out on this porch ... the other porches weren't too bad thankfully

One of the sunsets

Stef playing pool in the game room ... their Papa taught them well

Little Pie turned out to be a pretty good pool player

Louis ... aka Sugar Plum

Me & Fred with Stef & Erica on the back deck

Can you see the double rainbow?

Jane & the girls & the rainbows....
I asked Stef if she remembered what the rainbow meant and she said
"Yeah! God promised He would never flood the earth again, double!"

Me & the girls

Stef & Erica

Another sunset

A side view of our cabin "Above the Clouds"

and another side view

The way up to the cabin, ours was the last one on the mountain and the way up to it was STEEP ... as in too steep to even consider my walking up to it!

Jane & the girls ... in Gatlinburg

Taken in Gatlinburg

Me, Fred, Rick & Nancy Hauck, friends from Massachusetts

Shawn, Jane, Stephanie, Erica & Louis

Shawn & Jane

Sunset the last night we were there

This was taken at the TN / N.C. state line ... we were at the very top of the Smoky's
heading to Georgia for Clyde's Army Reunion with Rick & Nancy

Clyde & Rick

Me & Nancy at an entrance to the Appalachian Trail ...
you can walk to Maine from here ... it's only 1972 miles

That's all for now ... I'll post more later ...
We had such a great time with the kids and are so appreciative that they invited us to come along on this trip. This was the longest Clyde & I had been away from home together in almost 43 years of marriage.
Thanks Shawn & Jane! We loved it! Fear & all!
